As of this moment

Matt should be getting off the bus at the airport. He was a bit worried about riding a Korean bus to the airport- what if there was some communication issue? But we prayed that he'd be okay and I'll have to keep having faith to that end until I hear from him tomorrow sometime. His flight leaves from Korea to Tokoyo at 10pm my time, leaves Tokoyo for Newark New Jersey at 3:30am and then he'll fly for home at 8pm tomorrow night- arriving at 11pm. We expect that he'll be able to call home when he reaches Newark, as he turned on his cell phone. I am anxious for him. I hate not knowing what is going on- especially when there are so many chances for glitches to happen! But I'll keep praying and hopefully my anxiety will stay in check!

Got It!

Today I got two packages in the mail- one from Target and the other from Baby Boutique! The target package was the two boppy covers and the crib sheet. I was surprised that the boppy cover I thought I'd like the least, the red one, is actually my favorite of the two! But Emmaline got to choose which cover we put on first so we are doing my 2nd favorite, the pink one. I also got the Maya Wrap and I'm totally excited about it. Luckily they sent an instructional DVD along with it or I don't think I'd ever figure it out! I love the color, I think I'll fall in love with the fabric eventually. I used one of Emmaline's dolls to practice while the video was going and it was sort of fun. I even tried putting Emmaline in the wrap, on my hip (they say up to 30 or 35 pounds and she's only 28 so...) but I never did stand up to test it out. She enjoyed getting all snuggly though! I still haven't recieved a confirmation that the baby bath or the diaper bag have been shipped- I'll have to wait for a while longer before I get those. I'm most excited about the diaper bag- I can't wait to pack it! So I hope it gets here before baby does next week...

Shopping Spree!

I've been waiting for this my whole pregnancy. I have been waiting to go shopping and buy everything that I want that I haven't gotten yet. I waited this long just to make sure that if I got anything along the way I wouldn't end up duplicating things. But I decided yesterday that I've waited as long as I was going to wait.
So here is what I bought: From Target
2 boppy covers (I have a bare boppy but no covers...yet!)
1 cute flowery crib sheet ( I have one yellow checkerd one and wanted something more girly....)From Amazon
A Maya Wrap
A Baby Bath A Diaper Bag! From Target, again, cause that was yesterday, this was this morning,
A Diaper caddy (its acutally green with some light colored polka dots but they didn't have that exact picture)
A Swing!
I already had confirmation that the Target order and the Maya wrap are already shipped so I should get those in a few days! I can't wait to start opening boxes...its almost my favorite part of having a baby!

Whew...

Okay, so every once in a while it hits me...BAM! I'm pregnant. And that means I'm going to have a baby. And then it hits me again... BAM! I'm actually going to have a baby really really soon. Part of me wonders if its going to feel like Matt came, brought a baby with him and then he'll take the baby back when he goes. Wow...its going to be interesting. I'm going to have another baby in the house. On a different note. I've been working on studying for finals. I finally decided to get someone to watch Emmaline each day this week so that I can study uninturrupted. (Imagine a whiny, clingy toddler wanting to sit on my lap every time I open my book- I hardly have a lap! I can't barely reach the computer let alone actually type anything!) So I have a few different friends watching her this week in the morning then she'll come home to take a nap and I'll have, I hope, about 4 hours every day to concentrate solely on my homework! Boy, I'll be glad when this is all over on Friday! But! I'm planning on celebrating with cake, going out to lunch and getting my very first pedicure. I'll take pictures of the pedicure because I'm so excited about it. So, just pray for me to keep my sanity and actually learn what I need to this week to be ready for my finals!

Okay, so obviously countdown lists get outdated very quickly. Within 24 hours I guess ;) I went for a doctor appointment today and everything is still going okay. She measured me at 38cm (perfect) and Lottie's heart beat was so clear it was startling. It was a little faster than normal but nothing the doctor worried about. She did do a check to see if I was dilated and I'm not. Not even close. Part of me is very relieved, the other part of me is disappointed. I mean, I'm having all these braxton hicks, they should be doing something! But I REALLY don't want the baby to show up before Matt gets here and I'd be on edge during every contraction wondering if she was going to pop out before her daddy gets here if I was already dilating. So I think I'm good with not for right now. Next week may be a different question though. I've been talking to Emmaline a lot about when the baby comes. Now that its so close I figure we can go into things like what she'll do when the baby comes (stay with grandma or a friend) and how she can help take care of the baby. We used one of her dollies to talk about how to hold a little baby and she loved that. We also discussed things that little babies can't do that Emmaline can- like talking, walking, sleeping by herself, etc. I have tried to convey the fact that babies cry when they need something but I think it'll still be a shock for her to have a crying baby around. I haven't even started talking about how babies eat...I'm not sure I want to go there until I absolutely have to! I had a friend tell me that her daughter started pretending to feed her baby dolls the same way mommy nursed her brother...I'm sure it'll make for some interesting stories! We'll get there when it matters I guess. So, Emmaline is ready, the clothes are ready, her baby book is getting filled in, I'm tired of being pregnant...at this point all we are waiting for is MATT! Then everything will be ready and we can add another member to our family!

Emmaline's Easter Dance

Emmaline's Easter Dance

Grandma teaches Emmaline how to use the Ribbon Baton

Easter Events

Happy Easter!
We all enjoyed a City Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday Morning. This is one of the rare times that Emmaline and Andrew actually liked each other...and it made a very cute picture! Uncle Garrett and Carolyn were buddies- Carolyn got a Winnie the Pooh Easter basket! Christal and Julia were buddies. Although Julia is holding an Ernie basket, she actually got a Mickey Mouse basket.
Emmaline is in love with her Uncle Robert- her buddy for the hunt. She didn't want him to put her down! Emmaline is holding the Mickey Mouse basket- but she actually got the Ernie basket that Julia was holding.
Andrew is really photogenic. Uncle Spencer, his buddy, was holding the basket above my head to make him look at the camera. He got a Spider Man basket!
Ready, Set, Gather! The 'Hunt' was more of a gather for the 0-2 year olds and Emmaline and Andrew each got a ton of eggs and candy. They both enjoyed themselves immensely.
Yeah Emmaline and Andrew! Look how many eggs you got!
Aunt Christal, Uncle Garrett, Uncle Spencer, Uncle Robert, Andrew, Carolyn, Julia and Emmaline.
Emmaline got to wear her Easter outfit on Sunday. She looks very cute in Green. She was also sporting her brand new sandles (and they can't be shoes because she corrects me every time, they are sandles! lol). As she was looking for the eggs, the dog would sniff them out ahead of her and she' pick them up as he found them! We got a few good laughs out of that before we shoo'd the dog away, afraid he'd try to eat them.
This is the booty from our family Easter Egg hunt! Those eggs were actually hidden by the 'Easter Bunny' so she had to look really hard for them!
Uncle Spencer is trying to help Emmaline look at the camera. Harper (the dog) was trying to get his share of the goodies!
Her Easter Basket had a new dress (Dora, of course), a gardening kit, a ribbon baton and some sidewalk chalk. Next year we'll celebrate Easter only about 2 weeks before Charlotte's first birthday! That'll be the latest Easter for several years (it'll be April 24. Most Easter's are within the first few weeks of April and the early ones are the very end of March).
We Hope You All Had A Wonderful Easter!
